Leah and Toni greet a social worker, Evelyn; they’re trying to adopt a child and have to prove that they’re fit parents. Weeks after the encounter, Leah excitedly rushes to Toni with an envelope in her hand, announcing that the assessment has finally arrived. They are both excited as they huddle together to open and read the letter together. At first, they are excited and hopeful, but soon their expressions turn into shock and heartbreak.
